Lea County Enhanced 9-1-1

The Lea County Enhanced 9-1-1 is operational. The Enhanced 9-1-1 system requires logical city-style addresses for all homes and businesses in the County. Your new 9-1-1 address will help emergency services find your home faster, saving valuable minutes in response time when you dial 9-1-1. Your new address is valid immediately for 9-1-1 Emergency service. By notifying the Post Office of this new address you may use it as a mailing address. Please clearly post your new address number on your residence. Post them on your mailbox if you choose to do so at this time. If your home is not visible from the road, post the numbers at the driveway entrance. The address numbers on your home or driveway entrance should be at least four inches tall and of a contrasting color. Your address should also be posted on both sides of your mailbox. Do not move your mailbox unless directed to by the Post Office. The Rural Addressor uses the latest technology Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) to map roads and structures that are then plotted by this office in our GIS system.
