Departmental Mission: Lea County Water Users Association is coordinating the development and implementation of a 40 year water plan while exploring long-term protection of the non-replenishable water in Lea County.
Departmental Goals: To protect the water in Lea County for use by future generations.
Departmental Strategy: By utilizing the 40 year water plan, actively pursuing alternative water sources such as cloud seeding programs, and applying for grants, the LCWUA hopes to protect water in the present and assure that water is available in the future.
Departmental Objectives: Exploring all viable scientific, legislative and political means of assessing water availability and usage, and by implementing appropriate strategies.
